Welcome to the Chasdrew Fund

The Chasdrew Fund is a private operating foundation based in the Washington, DC area.

Founded in 1997, our purpose is to help young people become productive and successful adults. We provide direct capacity building and technical assistance to small youth-serving organizations. We help selected organizations develop the resources and capacity to expand their service offerings, and become competitive for funding and support from larger regional and national funders. In the past, we have operated a youth philanthropy project in a rural area of Vermont, and provided capacity building for a national juvenile justice initiative.

During the summer of 2010, Chasdrew launched the Safe Spaces program, which provides capacity building and technical assistance support to organizations that serve or wish to serve GLBTQI youth.

In March 2011, the Safe Spaces Project became a project of Tides Center. Information on the project and how to apply for support can be found on the project website, http://safespacesproject.org.

This web site also contains information about Chasdrew’s prior work, links to resources for small nonprofits, and our IRS Forms 990-PF.
